Skin editor for Minecraft
Paint on a 3D figure or on the flat texture, then download a 64 x 64 PNG. Your skins save in this browser, and undo still works after a reload.
Unofficial. Not affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft.
The 3D figure paints by mouse or touch. By keyboard, Tab to the flat texture: arrow keys move, Space paints, Shift and an arrow paints as it moves.
This browser can't show the 3D view. You can still paint on the flat texture.
The 3D view stopped and hasn't come back. Your skin is still here: keep painting on the flat texture, or reload the page.

Not tested in the game: we have not loaded this file in any game version. We only checked it against the 64 x 64 layout, on 2026-11-01.
How to use your skin
- Download the PNG.
- In Java, open the launcher's skins area, add the file, and choose the same arm width you painted with.
- In Bedrock, use Dressing Room, then import a custom skin from the file, where the game allows it.
What the file contains
A skin is a 64 by 64 PNG. Each body part has an inner layer, which must be solid, and an outer layer for hats, sleeves and hair, which can be see-through. Areas the format doesn't use stay fully transparent. The grey squares in the flat view are those areas, and the editor won't paint on them.
Before each download the page checks the file: it has to be 64 by 64, with solid inner pixels, and decode back to exactly what you painted. It has not been tried in the game at all, so check it in your own game. Layout source: minecraft.wiki, Skin, read 2026-11-01.
The starting figures here are our own drawings. For a skin made from a photo or picture, start with CrispKit's image to pixel art tool, and to design a matching team flag, try the banner maker.
Questions
How do I make my own skin?
Start from the mannequin, robot or a blank figure, paint on the 3D figure or flat texture, and download the PNG. It takes no account.
What size is a skin?
64 by 64 pixels in a PNG. Older skins were 64 by 32. The import button accepts both and fills in the missing left arm and leg of old skins by copying the right ones.
What is the second layer on a skin?
An extra shell around each body part. Use it for hats, hair, sleeves and jackets. Pixels you leave clear let the inner layer show through. Switch to Outer layer in the tools to paint it.
What is the difference between wide and slim arms?
Wide arms are 4 pixels across and slim arms 3. The file has no setting for this, so the editor reads the width from an imported file and you choose the same width in the game when you add the skin. Changing width here is an undo step, and changing back restores the arms.
Can I edit a skin on my phone?
Yes. Phones start in Move mode, so a swipe scrolls the page. Press Paint above the figure and one finger paints, while two fingers rotate and zoom. The zoom buttons jump to the head, body, arms or legs.
Is this editor official?
No. BlockJig is an independent site, and its starting figures are not taken from the game.
